CANADA DAY 4

Well, it should have been a relatively easy day with only one show for us...yeah, right.
We spent another 13 1/2 hours in the building before heading out this evening.  At least after supper tonight we (that would be Dave, for the most part) didn't have to go back to the show building and take care of dogs until they locked up for the night. Dave is outside as I type, pottying dogs, and loading the van and trailer, because right now it is NOT raining, so trying to take advantage of the dryness.

Just one show today, an All-Breed, Lower Mainland Dog Fanciers Club:
Havanese
RJ - 1st in 6 - 9 puppy class
Chocobeast - 2nd in 6 - 9 puppy class
Zeus - :(
Selena - Best of Opposite.

Huge numbers all weekend in Havanese due to the draw of the National Specialty.  A lot of beautiful dogs, and a few, well, you know, and then there was the corded thing.  Because the Canadian Standard does not directly address cording, as does the AKC standard, they figure they can do it.  I still don't get it.  It doesn't say I can't cord a Lhasa or Skye Terrier or any number of other breeds, but what do you think would happen if I walked into the show ring with one corded?   "Well, it doesn't say I can't..."

Ibizans
Quandry - 1st, Winners Dog, Best of Opposite, Best Puppy
Bisque - 1st, Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, Best of Breed

Well, I had better keep packing as the drive home starts tomorrow.
