David Scheiris update

Hi All,
As many of you know, David had surgery yesterday to clean up a torn meniscus.  While he was gone to Morris & Essex, he slipped a few times in the rain and did more damage.  Not enough to warrant a different type of surgery, yet anyway.  The good 24 hour pain drugs they gave him in the hospital have worn off and even though he took the prescribed overlap of oral pain medication, he is a hurting unit today.  Not too whiny about it though.  We had a busy day with one of our dogs who was not feeling well and he put himself on the back burner, and put her first.  Even though he wasn't driving, Dave still wanted to be with us for support.  All is well on that front too.

After his surgery, we went to a hotel, so that he would not have to deal with any stairs.  Unavoidable at our house and he really needs to rest for a few more days.  Sleeping on the couch in the family room or formal living room will not cut it, nor will climbing onto the bunk in the motorhom.  We will probably be home tomorrow, but are hoping to be able to keep the room another night.  At this point, the hotel is full but we have our fingers crossed.

Thank you to everyone for their prayers and good wishes.
Hugs all around.
Darlene

Thank You Chuck Wilson for showing Bugs in the breed ring for us.

Would love to have had some photos this weekend, but the club had a different photographer this year... Luis Sosa.  He is available because the shows that he used to lock into contracts are getting tired of him too.  After the letter he sent me about threatening to never take a photo again if I didn't start buying them, I won't have him do a photo again.  Even a BIS!  If he took better photos, I'd buy them all!  But they are digital and he still can't get it right.  It's not like he is paying for printing and shipping, and then we aren't buying.  If he doesn't take a digital, then he is the one who is losing out, because if he actually took a good one, I'd buy it!  The AKC does not seem to think that there is a conflict of interest with him photographing dog shows one weekend, then judging the next.  Talk about screwy.  I have mentioned this to other judges, who have AKC restrictions on what type of show related business they can and cannot have.  They all see the conflict, but the powers that be do not.

Won't show to him, won't let him photograph my dogs!

LEILANI - 1st, Winners Bitch, BEST OF BREED
Thank You Breed Judge Mr. Michael Dougherty
Group Judge Mrs. Alane Gomez

Monday cannot come soon enough for Dave's knee.  He had to make the choice of showing Leilani in the Non Sporting group or Bugs in the Toy Group.  He didn't have it in him to do both.  Leilani doesn't really like the big ring and all of the associated noise and clapping, and Bugs enjoys it, so Dave rested with his leg up until time for the Toy Group.  Glad he went that route, and brought home a RED RIBBON!!!
