FINALLY!!!

Well COMCAST is special.  But unless we want to to go to satellite, we don't really have another option.  They say that due to the construction our cable/internet we will continue to have 'intermittent outages.'  Well their definition of 'intermittent' is 'out of service whenever you want to use it.'

So I am back online, well sort of.  It came back for a while Tuesday night and again yesterday morning.    It is working now.

I have updated and corrected some results from Sunday and Monday.  I will get to yesterday's results next, then hopefully will have something good to report for today.

Fingers crossed that all goes GREAT.
God willing and if the creek don't rise.
But with all these storms…

Scratching My Head….

Maybe this goes under the category of "Things that make you go Hmmm…"

Started getting emails from someone asking about some of our puppies who go back to some of her bloodlines.  I know who she is, I think I have met her, but it doesn't really matter.  She started off by telling me all about who she was, listing pedigree info, which while the names were there, she had males and females confused, and who owns who very confused.  In the same paragraph, sometimes the same sentence, proceeded to tell me how great she is, how great her breeding program is, basically how much I owe her, how much the world owes her, and how much she has to do with everything.

The first email sounded like a drunk text.  At first I though it was a victim of the predictive text feature on a phone, but the more I read it, the more it just seemed like WWI - writing while impaired.

It was funny, confusing, and threatening all at the same time.

So, trying to be nice, and not just ignore her, since Dave really likes the people who are in between this person and us, I tried to answer her questions, or what I thought were her questions completely and politely, with the photo that I had available.  I told her that I did not understand one particular sentence / question in her first email and to please clarify it, but here were answers to what I thought she was asking.

I cc'd this to the 'in-betweens' as a CYA, so they would have all if the info if things hit the fan.

Her response to me was not a 'Thank You' for my time or a clarification of her email, but just a scary rant on her bloodlines and how much we owe her, and that I should look at my pedigrees!
She implied that I should have known better than to tell her she would have been welcome to talk to Dave at Nationals and go over any of the dogs that she wanted, as she "NO LONGER DOES NATIONALS!!!"

Well, OK then.  Sorry, wasn't my decade to watch you.

I don't know what she wants, but I am not responding to any more of her emails that are always signed "Have a happy and Blessed day"

Maybe that is code for "I am great, you owe me because I owned a dog or two that are way back in your pedigrees.  So knee before Zod, you insect."

I truly hope that she was drinking or doing drugs when she typed these emails, yesterday and today, because I think it scares me too much to think that this is the way she is sober.  I'd rather think that she is a mean drunk.

AAA Roadside Assistance - SEVERELY LACKING - 6 HOURS ON THE ROADSIDE NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!

POOR DAVE!!!! Friday Dave and Tim drove from Huntsville, AL to Topeka, KS and didn’t get there until the wee hours of Saturday morning. Yesterday afternoon (Saturday), Dave drove to Shawnee, to meet me to pick up a puppy to show in Topeka & have a belated birthday dinner with our dear friend Laura E. Warman and my sister Vicki Veseling Dike. A nice visit and meal on the patio with the puppy at Barley’s Brewhaus. As Dave was backing out of his parking spot at 6:30, I stopped him and told him that he wasn't going anywhere on those tires. The belt was separating on on. Just lucky he stopped at the exact spot that he did to let someone else back out of their spot, and I looked down exactly when I did. We had them checked and rotated right before he and Tim left on this trip! Luckily there was an NTB about 5 minutes away, where they were fabulous and stayed late to get him back on the road. He left there about 7:25, should have been back in Topeka at 8:25, but before 8:00 he was on the side of the road, and the van wasn't getting any power. Called AAA. After several calls to AAA, and everyone promising to check back with himin 10 - 15 minutes, he received only 1 text back, they kept thinking he was in Bunker Hill, KS - west of Salina, almost 200 miles from where he was! They even asked him for permission to locate him him using his cell phone (didn't even know a private company could do that), which he did. One of the KS State Troopers that stopped by said that their were two mile markers with that same number on I-70, because of the portion that is turnpike. Dave gave them the mile marker number on the KS Turnpike, told them he had just passed a a sign that said LeCompton, KS, ALL EAST of Topeka, and they kept trying to verify that he was in Bunker Hill - 200 MILES WEST of his location, and that they weren't sure that he and his 3 people would fit in the tow truck. WTF???? They never even asked him how many people he had with him. He was driving a 1 Ton van, then when the first tow people called, they were from Bunker Hill. When someone from a Lawrence, KS tow company finally called, only about 12 miles away, they were going to send one of those 'mini pick-up tow trucks!' During all of this nightmare, he had to get out of the van with the crated puppy and go to the other side of the ditch because even when there was no traffic in the left lane the trucks were not moving over. Several times he heard the rumble strips as they were driving down/over the white line. While he was there praying that the van didn't get demolished, some car pulled over in front of the van and a man got out and came right up to Dave accusing him of throwing things at his car!!! This guy obviously wasn’t stable or sober to begin with and could have been totally crazy and robbed or murdered Dave because of the delays caused by AAA's stupidity. Finally they got back to Topeka around 2 AM. It took 4 calls from Dave, 2 calls from the KS Turnpike authority, and 1 from the first tow truck driver in Bunker Hill, to finally get through to them. I still wonder about the vehicle broke down with three people somewhere. Are they still out there waiting? Oh yeah, and the van, started right up this morning, but wouldn't the whole time he was on the side of the road or when he got back last night. Tim is off on a mission to replace a starter or solenoid or something! Wish him luck! I am on a mission to research AARP or other roadside assistance plans. BE SAFE OUT THERE.

Does this make me a bad person?

I was looking at show results and noticed that a Bichon that Dave transported back from Norway, was still entered but not being shown.  This dog's US owner promised Dave that he would be the one to show this dog when he was done in Canada and came to the US, unless his Canadian handler was coming to show him.  Wynn is a gorgeous dog, and his Canadian handler came to the US Nationals, and he looked fabulous.  That is when the owner was going around telling everyone that she had hired a different handler to shown Wynn in the US.  I sent the owner an email and she did not even have the courtesy to respond.

This handler, who is also a Bichon breeder, and this dog were at a some of the big Texas shows last month.  Just as with some shows in the Carolinas, this handler stayed on his own dogs.  This handler and his assistant did everything they could to make Wynn lose and his other dogs win.  Well, it worked most of the time.  Dave said it was almost comical how Wynn kept trying to show and correct the obvious efforts on the handlers to make him lose.  So back to why this dog is still entered and is not being shown.  HE NEEDS A MAJOR TO FINISH.  Of all of the majors that this handler has had a shot at with this dog, all but one went to his own dogs.

So, back to the original question:  Does it make me a bad person to feel like the owner got what she deserved, by backing out on her promise to Dave?

When Dave takes a client dog and has our own dogs entered, he stays on the client dog.  We have a situation coming up with a class dog of ours and a client dog.  We always make sure that the client knows ahead of time that our dog is planning to be entered. For the upcoming shows, the client knows that our girl doesn't need much to finish, so if our dog wins, they won't pay handling for those days.  If they had said "No" we would not have entered our dog.  Too bad more handlers don't have those same ethics.

I still remember what it is like to be the one paying the handling bill - actually I still am, as my GBGV is with a handler in Colombia.

ANOTHER UPDATE TO THE HCA COMPLAINT

When Dave got back to his room that day, after checking his expens after the complaint was made, there was poop in his expens.  Somebody else had been using them and leaving their dog's poop behind.  Don't mind you using the expens, but clean up after your dog!!!

ALSO:  You might remember my earlier mention of the Havanese person who has spayed & neutered 6 week old puppies, then started to put them down at 8 weeks because 'they weren't as active, outgoing, and friendly as a puppy should be."  Well, DUH!  But anyway, she was in the same hotel building as Dave so I am pretty sure that's who was making these false accusations.  She's the one who should be put down due to bad temperament.  She should never be allowed near another dog.  She has a handler who also has no morals or ethics (in my opinion) so I guess she finally found someone to put up with, and enable, her.  This woman, well her husband, has more money than most of us combined, and stays with her cheating husband (she knows his mistresses!) for the money.  What a sad, sad life she must have.

As they say, money can't buy happiness but it makes being miserable more fun.  She doesn't even appear to be having that much fun though, very sad.

EXHIBITOR COMPLAINT AT HCA …UPDATED

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?  You have nothing better to do than find someone to pick on?  Why does it have to be my husband?  He has done nothing to you, except maybe beat you in the ring.  And not a whole lot of that going on this weekend anyway!!!  He has helped more of you than I can count, and many time against my wishes.
You need to remember that he is the nice one…not me.

Someone complained that Dave had dogs out barking unattended at 4 AM yesterday.  They also said that his expens were FULL OF POOP.

WAY TOO MUCH WRONG WITH THAT COMPLAINT!!!
1.     IF a puppy needed out at 4 AM they would NEVER have been unattended, and never left to bark.
2.    Dave did not get up until his alarm went off at 5:30, the dogs were probably out by 5:45, the puppies probably let out a few barks.  DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE AT A DOG SHOW?  They were not barking incessantly, nor were they unattended.
3.     For one thing the dogs go out on racks, and are not walked or allowed on the ground at this due to dirt, ick, fire ants, and other bugs.  There is a grass mat under the expens, so cleanup when we leave is easier.  We pay attention to our dogs when they are out, quite unlike the numerous people who do not and have gotten dogs killed or injured due to their negligence.
4.     Our dogs are not out on the ground so that they can pee and step in it or poop and step in it.
5.     The rack does not have big enough holes for the poop to all go through so it is still essential that it be cleaned after every dog goes so that they don't step in anything left by the previous dog.
6.     After the complaint was brought to Dave's attention, he went back to his room, checked the pens, and you know what?  THERE WERE 2 ITTY BITTY PIECES OF POOP THAT HAD FALLEN THROUGH THE RACK THAT HE MISSED, AND 1 SMALL PIECE IN A CORNER THAT HE DIDN'T SEE.

1 SQUARE INCH of poop in 59 SQUARE FEET of expen.   I wouldn't call that FULL OF SHIT!  I have seen more poop in some people's crates at Nationals, worse at other shows.  To the point where I wanted to complain, but realize that something must have been urgent that they missed that.  Sure enough, for the most part, the crates were clean the rest of the time.

We are the dog people who leave hotel rooms and grounds cleaner than we found them, and try to make things as invisible as possible so that hotels continue to accept dogs.

THE PENS WERE NOT FULL OF SHIT!!!!
THE DOGS WERE NOT OUT BARKING!!!
THE DOGS WERE NOT OUT UNATTENDED!!!!

Now, YOU PETTY INSIGNIFICANT INSECTS, start worrying about your own dogs, and leave us the f**k alone!

If you want something to worry about, how about the old biddie who has no problem with puppies dying, or the one who spays & neuters whole litters of puppies at 6 weeks of age, then starts putting them down at 8 weeks because they aren't "as outgoing and friendly as puppies should be."

Stop picking on the man who just wants the best for this breed.  The man who loaned tables and expens to someone who's vehicle broke down and had to leave equipment behind because it wouldn't fit in the rental care.  Stop picking on the man who loaned a table to someone who forgot theirs, and to someone else who needed one.  Stop picking on the man, who, when he realized I overbooked paid reserved grooming space - gave some away, asking nothing in return.  Stop picking on the man who offered a ringside table to someone else who needed it.  Stop picking on the man who let people other people use his big dryer because they had a bunch of wet dogs and were trying do them them all with a hand-held people hair dryer.  Dave didn't know most of these people at all, but they needed help and he stepped in.  He does this at every show.  As I said before, this has been much to my chagrin, because he sometimes helps others then realizes he has spend more time with them than he should have on his own dogs.  Then he will call me and you can hear it in his voice how proud he was to help when they won that day and were thrilled.  THAT IS THE MAN YOU KEEP ATTACKING, AND I AM SICK OF IT!!!
