While we are always appreciative of our wins, this is another example of a judge awarding baby puppy coat over more deserving adults.  There is another judge who has awarded Havanese puppies Best of Breed over specials over 96% of the time.  Yes, I did the math.  She never uses them in group.   We no longer enter specials or adults under her.  The standard calls for 'soft & silky' coat NOT the softest coat in the ring.  As I have always said, it's like comparing a 5 year old child's hair to a supermodel's beautiful long silky hair.  Both may be soft & silky, but that supermodel's hair is never going to feel like that 5 year old, and it shouldn't, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful.  If a judge has the ability to judge different breed 'against' each other in a group, why can't they understand that adults are different than puppies?

 Overall, not what we wanted, but still not bad for a large entry and only his 2nd weekend showing.  He was also the youngest in his class.  - OK, no more excuses!!!  

(No promises about the whining though!)

This morning on one of my very favorite TV shows, CBS Sunday Morning, there was an interview with Jerry Seinfeld.  Evidently he has a show that has been on some cable network for 6 years (or seasons?) called Comedians in Cars with Coffee (or something like that).  Who knew?  Anyway they talked about how he still does stand-up because it keeps him down to earth.  Like someone worth $800 million can be down to earth.  Might have only been $80 million but after the firs $20 million isn't it all about the same?  I wouldn't mind finding out....

The quote that I actually laughed out loud and wanted to share was from a clip they did of his stand-up act went something like this:

After huge airline delays, cancelled flights, etc, Dave and Sizzle finally made it to Norway late Saturday.  BUT it was in time to be at the show this morning and do very well.  While Sizzle has three AKC Beginner Puppy Group 1s here in the US, this was his first show outside of the US and his first show on outside on grass.  We are very proud of our boy that will be in Norway with his new mom Wivi-Anne Olsen.

Our Bichons had direct conflicts with Havanese every day, well Saturday & Monday.  
So they did not get shown :( since it is our policy to put our own dogs last if there is a conflict with client dogs.  
They were not entered on Sunday.
