A Bump in the Road ???

I received the following from a dear friend today, and was asked to forward it to keep this in our hearts and minds.  I do not like to forward emails and figured that I would reach more people by posting it here.

Very thought provoking and poignant.

 

"A bump in the road" .... Remember that calloused statement.

 

The President referred to the Benghazi incident as "a bump in the road."

 

Today I heard an ex-Navy Seal being interviewed on Fox News regarding a book he has written about how to handle crisis situations in our lives.  At the end of the interview he asked if he could make a comment on Benghazi and of course the anchor said yes.  He then thanked Fox News for keeping the Benghazi story in the news, since other news organizations are not.  He said the Seals who died deserve the public knowing the truth about the whole affair.

 

The poem was written by a MARINE CORPS Officer (ANON).

This needs to be circulated as much as we possibly can to keep it going.  I think this is the feeling of the general population and it should be pursued until something is done with the incompetent people involved who literally sat there in the White House and watched the SEALs’ execution on live streaming video and did absolutely nothing!

Just another example of our governments disregard for the lives of our troops.  We all see the commercials for organizations to help soldiers and their families while deployed, or upon their return.  A few days ago, I was asked by a non-US citizen:  "WHY?  Why doesn't your government help them?  In my country, the families are taken care of, they don't have to worry about losing their homes, or not having money for rehabilitation.  I thought the US would be good about that.  Very sad."  

Very sad indeed.

Prayers Requested

Please send Prayers for recovery for BRT Teach.  He was saved from a situation of living alone in a dark basement and has had a wonderful couple of years with a dear friend in Maryland.  He has had to have surgery and going into it the prognosis was good.  Today, not so much.  
He needs all of the good thoughts and prayers we can all send his way.  I am sure that his mom Lisa, would appreciate some as well.

The English People are Refined???

OK, yeah, part of it is the accent and the attitude, but this week many people in the UK have sunk to the levels of those in the Middle East whom we all abhore (or should).  We were apalled at the riots in the middle east celebrating the deaths of American Citizens, the attacks on peaceful nations, and the death of Sadam Hussein, to mention only a few.  This week in the UK there are protests (of course they aren't riots!) in celebration of the death of a great woman Margaret Thatcher.  Their theme song is from the Wizard of Oz, 'Ding, Dong, The Wicked Witch is Dead'  Through the use of 'Social Media' it is the number 1 song on itunes in the UK and in the top five of requested songs on the radio.  Like her or not, she did a lot for that country, and the world, and women in politics (which may or may not be a good thing, depending on the woman), but she did open doors, none the less. 
The mainstream media here is barely carrying the story.  Like the news or not, what is happening is real, and should be covered.  Yes, these demonstrations probably do not represent the feeling of the majority in the UK but it is just crazy.  It lets us see that no matter how civilized we are, our society has the ability to stoop to this level.  Sad, very sad.

So far, all of Keisha's wins towards her Championship have been at specialties.  After picking up her first points by going Winners Bitch at the Havanese Club of America National Specialty in 2011, we decided to enter her only in specialties.  With today's win, Keisha has won Winners Bitch at 4 Specialties, including a breed win over a MBIS Specials.

The 'Specialties Only' thing isn't working out for us, as it turned into about a year off for Keisha due to other things going on in our lives.  So, it looks like I have been out-voted and she will be entered in a couple of other shows to see how it goes.

Tom Purnell 1931 - 2013

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Laura Purnell and her family, on the loss of beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and Bichon Dad.  Tom will be greatly missed.  He was a quiet fixture at hundreds of dog shows over the years.  Tom and Laura were married for 57 years.  Amazing!
Tom passed away yesterday, March 28, the visitation was this evening, and the funeral will be held tomorrow morning, March 30, at 9:00 AM.  More information at the link below.
