The President and the The Queen

A friend just sent me this in an email.  Made me smile.  Hopefully you'll get a chuckle too...

As Air Force One arrives at the Heathrow Airport , President Obama strides to a warm and dignified

reception from the Queen.

They are driven in a 1934 Bentley to the edge of central London, where they change to a magnificent

17th century carriage hitched to six white horses.They continue on towards Buckingham Palace,

waving to the thousands of cheering Britons; all is going well.

      Suddenly, the right rear horse lets out the most horrendous earth shattering fart ever heard in the

British Empire .  The smell is so atrocious that both passengers in the carriage, must use handkerchiefs

over their noses.  The fart shakes the coach, but, the two dignitaries of State do their best to ignore the incident.

The Queen politely turns to President Obama and says:

   "Mr President, please accept my deepest regrets... I am sure you understand there are some things that even a Queen cannot control."

 Obama, always trying to be "Presidential," responded:

   "Your Majesty, do not give the matter another thought... Until you mentioned it, I thought it was one of the horses."

Pretty much could have stayed home.

The first day was cancelled because of the weather.  Onofrio finally made it in late on Wednesday night, but the road were still so bad that the Thursday show had already been cancelled.

Friday - Didn't have a lot entered due to the judges.

Well, both Davids could have stayed in bed today.  David Scheiris with Selena, the HCA National Specialty Best of Breed Winner 2013, and David Stout with Kenny, the HCA National Specialty Best of Opposite 2013.  After examination and the final go-round, Mr. Jenkins began pulling dogs to the middle of the ring.  He pulled all of the specials EXCEPT for Selena and Kenny.  OK, so this means one of two things, "We're screwed" or "One of us is BOB and one of us is BOS."  Unfortunately it was the former.  What a slap in the face to two top dogs.

This is not the first time that Mr. Jenkins has pulled the rug out from under my Dave.  When Desi was out a special, Mr. Jenkins and one of his handlers couldn't say enough about how much he loved Desi.  Just couldn't wait to get him in the ring, either for the Breed or the Group.  Dave left a circuit, flew in to show Desi, to Mr. Jenkins, showed like the champ he is, and was barely awarded.

After I saw who the judge was, I typed up these Best of Breed results prior to the breed ring time.  The handler of this breed winner, has gotten Best of Breed and usually a Group 1 when he has shown to this judge.  It happened again today, but at least she isn't doing the group.  

Are they related or something? 

Y'know it would also be nice if the judges would learn what the DQ's are for a breed.

Overheard comment from Mrs. Kahn about the her choice for breed winner today..."Yes, his topline could have been better."  There were three other specials and numerous class dogs with better toplines, that she would not have been able to say that about, but she put up this one.  As everyone says..."Well, it's Keke."

LOOKING FOR A VAN

Well, it's almost official…the big van is dead.  The death certificate hasn't been issued yet, but I believe that paperwork is in the coroner's office. 

We need to replace it soon.  

What is was:
Chevrolet Express 3500, 1 ton, 15 passenger extended wheel base, with rear air/heat both floor and ceiling, and a heavy duty tow package.

What we need:  Something from a large minivan to a sprinter with good rear air and heat, and tow package.  

Dave is in Florida, I am in the Kansas City area.  If anyone knows of an available, reasonably priced vehicle, that was made this century, please let us know.

Nurple - Select - but why even bother?
Well, all I have to say is that it must have been one hell of a puppy, or Judge Faye Strauss is taking lessons from Toddie Clark.  She walked a multiple Best in Show bitch, and the rest of the specials (including Nurple) are very nice, and I believe that all of them have at least a few group placements, if not higher.
I want to say "WTF?!?!?!?!" but all I will say is...Things that make you go "Hmmmm.?"

FOLLOW-UP:  It must be Toddie Clark lessons.  Mrs. Strauss gave the puppy dog Best of Breed, then didn't even use it in the Regular Group and Judge Nancy Stern didn't use him in the Puppy Group.  again...Things that make you go "hmmm..."
